Suspicion Flashcards
1

A
Black associated with evil - brought on by mention of Hyde, J and H becoming more associated
2
Q
‘Taking the air with an infinite sadness of mien, like some disconsolate prisoner’
A
Connotations of prisoner = crime and conviction - again starting to associate Jekyll with these things
3
Q
‘You must suffer me to go my own dark way’
A
‘Suffer’ + ‘dark’ - associated with Hyde, lexical field almost of evil
Reminds us of Utterson ‘I let my brother go to the devil in his own way’ - suggests Jekyll is ‘going down’ - becoming more like Hyde
