A

Panopticon is a model of how power operates in society as a whole

if prisoners do not know if they’re being watched but they might be they have to behave at all times - self surveillance

A

foucault only tells half the story

panopticon allows the few to monitor the menu and the other media allows the many to see the few

believe in synopticon - everyone watches everyone e.g. dash cams

Consumers - loyalty cards
Social media - exchange personal info

surveillance acts as a big brother - watched but don’t know when so behave
