A

People join subcultures to solve their relative deprivation

some turn to criminal subcultures, subscribing to societies materialistic goals

A

unemployed youth are marginalised

sense of powerlessness so express frustration through violence

WC crime is worse now due to high unemployment + cuts to welfare

remove social inequality to stop relative deprivation

e.g. new deal from new labour getting those on benefits into work or training

stops them being marginalised as heavily and gives more opportunities
