Surface anatomy & musculoskeletal testing Flashcards
what is the scoring system for muscular power
0 = No contraction
1 = Flicker or trace of contraction - nothing practically
2 = Active movement, with gravity eliminated - hold at the elbow
3 = Active movement against gravity - removal of the resistance
4 = Active movement against gravity and
resistance
5 = Normal power
trapezius supplies by what nerve and how do you test
spinal accessory nerve C3/4
shrug shoulders
rhomboids - found down the spine to move scapulas together ( Functionally, the rhomboid muscles retract, elevate and rotate the scapula)
dorsal scapular nerve C4-5
hand behind back
serratus anterior put hands against the wall innervated by what nerve
long thoracic nerve C5-7
pec major clavicular head innervated by what
lateral pectoral nerve C5,6
pull down on the arm as it is raised
spraspinatus innervated by the supra scapula nerve of c5,6 as well as the infrapsinatus ( lateral rot)
lats innervated by what
thoarcodorsal nerve C6-8
teres major innervated by subscapualr nerve what nerve roots
C5-7
radial nerve also supplies the supinator and extensor carpi radials longus
the extensor carpi ulnas is supplied by what branch of this
posterior interosseous C7,8
extensor digitorum does what
supplied by posterior interosseous of rd C7-8
extend medial 4 digits at the MCPJ
abductor pollicis longus
nerve
function
posterior interosseous of radial C7-8
adduct the thumb - therefore moving it anteriorly at CMJ
extensor pollicis longus
same nerve as adductor
radial
extension of the thumb at MCPJ in thumb
same with bravis
pronator teres
median nerve C6-7
flexicarpi radialis
median nerve
lumbricals supplied by median and ulnar nerves and do wha
flex MCP
extend IP
first and second median and then 3rd and 4th is ulnar
