Surah Lahab

Question 1

تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍۢ وَتَبَّ

Answer 1

Iban Abbas said that one day Aboo Lahab told people that Muhammad and said: “ Such and such will happn after death” Then pointing to his hamds he said “None of thi ha ever happened in his hannds the he raised his hads and said: “ I see nothing of what Muhammad said hence the Quran a attribute to his hands” The firsttence was made against him to satisfy the anger of the muslims because whe abdul lahab cured the prophet the muslims whised that the curse be given to him too, 7 days after the battle of badr Abul Lahb had a plaige that kept everyone away frm him. People thoght it was contagiou and were scared of spreadn it throughcontact so they forced hm to live in isolation. He Eventuall died in this state

Question 2

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ

Answer 2

Ibn Abbas said when the prophet called on his people to belive and warned them against punishment, Abdul Lahab said “ Even if what my nephew said was right I wil save myself from the paninful tournment ofhe day of judgement with my wealth and my children”

Question 3

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًۭا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍۢ

Answer 3

It will happen after his death or the day of Judgement

Question 4

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ

Answer 4

1. During that time girlsfrom the lowest class used to collect and carry fireworks on thier backs so it is a form of insult towards her ecause she thought of herslf to be of very high class and status
2. Som said this is an indication for her going to hel as well with her husband as she used to enages and fuel Aboo Lahab to Muamma in ths lif and in te after life she would carry wood in hell to fuel both of thier fires
3. Some say fireworks refer to evil and insulting words that she used against prophet so the meaning became: The carrier of insults and evil words

Question 5

فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌۭ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ

Answer 5

The Word جِيدِهَا means the neck of woman decorated with necklases so Allah will replace her necklases with a rope
The Arabic word مَّسَدٍۭ is when a rope is perfetly twisted and it is also used to describe a material that doesn’t burn easily.

Some Say that the rope around her neck will be twisted thhightly in hell so she can’t get any words out. This is a punishment for her using insulting words against the prophet.
