1903 Lone Wolf v Hitchcock
A
Congress changed terms of a treaty that opened up 2 million acres of reservation lands to settlement by non Indians.
Lone Wolf appealed - eventually established the right of congress to revoke all treaties and led to further acquisition of Indian lands.

1974 Oneida v Oneida
A
A case to establish the right of the Oneida tribe to sue for the return of lands.
Court decided in their favour, opened up flood gate for land claims.

1980 United States v the Sioux Nations
A
Supreme Court ruled that the loss of Black Hills was worth a $17.5million compensation
Sioux refused it, preferring to have the land.
