Digastric
A
Most visible structures. Consists of anterior and posterior segments. Elevates the hyoid bone (swallowing) and helps open the mandible.

Mylohyoid
A
Forms the oral floor, deep to digastric. Tightens and elevates the oral floor; draws the hyoid bone anteriorly (swallowing) and moves it side to side during mastication.

Stylohyoid
A
Located along the posterior segment of digastric. Do not mistake it for digastric. Elevates the hyoid bone (swallowing) and helps open the mandible. Synergistic to digastric.
