Supraglottic Airways Flashcards
LMA Classic use
Can serve as a conduit for ETT, shorter procedures
LMA Unique use
Single use, cheaper
LMA Flexible use
It is wire-reinforced that is longer and narrower than classic- designed for surgery on the head, neck, and upper torso
LMA ProSeal use
Has cuff, inflation line with pilot balloon, airway tube & drain tube, allows for a better seal around glottic aperture & anchors. Most suited for controlled ventilation & can be used with higher airway presssures
LMA Supreme use
Single use, built in drain tube & fins to protect from epiglottic obstruction
LMA Fastrach use
Designed for easier use than Classic & for novices
LMA (General) intraoperative management
Keep pressure at or below 60 cm H2O, controlled or spontaneous ventilation, (if controlled - keep pressure below 20 cm H2O - 30 with ProSeal), leakage or snoring may indicate need for more muscle relaxation (though consider other causes)
LMA CTrach use
Has viewer
i-Gel use
no cuff, naturally positions itself over laryngeal framwork
