What is a my plan and my plan+?
A simple set of detailing target and strategies to support a child with SEND.
This is created and implemented by the individual setting .
There is no additional funding and my plan does not follow the student between settings .
Practitioners, parents Seco, the child and other agencies all contribute to the my plan.
The purpose of my plan is to make the child’s targets clear to encourage all involved support the child’s progress .
To monitor the child’s progress and to evaluate the strategies that are currently being used
Overall, this determines what additional support a child needs .
What’s the difference between a my plan and my plan+?
A my plan plus is more in-depth compared to a my plan.
What is an early help assessment?
An assessment to determine what support a child needs, a professional observes the child and will have meetings with the parents and practitioners.
A EHA is performed if it is suspected a child has SEND.
A parent and practitioner can request an early help assessment.
What happens after an early help assessment?
They rank for help needed for the child.
Number one – universal – child has no additional needs
Number two – additional – needs met via a my plan .
Number three – intensive – a multi agency approach using a Mylan plus with a whole family assessment and a lead practitioner .
Number four – specialist – specialist interventions involving statutory assessment and planning e.g. and educational healthcare plan.
What is an educational healthcare plan? (my plan on steroids.)
