Supplementary Procedures - PRO-SUP-70 Power Plant Flashcards
051- What is Specific about MANUAL Thrust and the Various Detent Positions of the Thrust Levers (TLV)?
PRO-SUP-70 P3
- If One or Both Thrust Levers are Short of CL Detent,
the ENG Inst. Display Shows:
CL Continuously
- If One or Both Thrust Levers are Above CL Detent,
it Shows:
MCT/FLEX
- If One or Both Thrust Levers are Above MCT Detent,
it Shows:
TOGA
- With the Thrust Levers Positioned in a Specific Detent,
the ENG are Limited to that Detent Parameters.
052- How Autothrust Disconnection may Occurs?
PRO-SUP-70 P4
- Abnormal way:
* If The A/THR Fails
* If Both Thrust Levers are Set to IDLE
- Standard way:
* Via the Thrust Levers Instinctive Disconnect Button
* Via the FCU’s A/THR Pb (NOT Recommended).
053- Who Should Perform the Manual Start?
PRO-SUP-70 P6
The PF (Procedure Read by the PM)
It’s No Longer a Cpt Only Procedure.
054- When a Manual ENG Start is Recommended?
PRO-SUP-70 P6
After Aborting a Start due to:
- Engine Stall
- Engine EGT Over Limit
- LO START AIR PRESS
- No N1 Rotation
- Hung Start
When Expecting a Start to Abort due to:
- Low Bleed Performance Expected because of:
* Hot Weather Conditions
* High Altitude Airfield
* External HP Air Supply
- Tailwind > 10 Kt.
055- What are the Alternatives to Standard Start / Shutdown Procedures?
PRO-SUP-70 P7-12
For Start:
- Manual Engine Start Procedure (p 7)
- Engine Start With External Pneumatic Power (p 9)
- Cross Bleed Engine Start (p 10)
- Start Valve Manual Operation (p 11)
For Start/Cruise:
- Detection of Handling Bleed Valve Malfunction
PRO-SUP-70 P 12
For Shutdown:
- NO ENG Shutdown After Setting ENG Master Sw To OFF.
PRO-SUP-70 P 12
056- How to Detect a Handling Bleed Valve Malfunction?
PRO-SUP-70 P12
- Starting difficulties:
* ENG Hung start
* ENG Sub-Idle Stall / ENG Roll Back
* ENG Start EGT Exceedance
- TakeOff EGT Higher than:
* Typical ENG-to-ENG Variations
* Typical ENG EGT Margins
- Fuel Flow: (Cross-Wing Comparison)
* > +3 % in Cruise
* > +6 % in Climb / Alternate / Diversion Conditions
- Climb / Cruise EGT Shift: (Cross-Wing Comparison)
* +20° C to +50° C
- Engine Stall (Surge) upon:
* Engine Transient (Acceleration or Deceleration)
In this Particular Case a Maintenance Action is due
Prior to the Next Flight.
057- What are the N2 and Temperature Limitations for a Manual ENG Start?
PRO-SUP-70 P8
Do NOT Attempt Manual ENG Start Unless:
- N2 is at Least 15 %
- EGT has Dropped to the Minimum Achievable.
* Beware of Starter Motoring Time Limitation (4 Min)
Beginning with the ENG START.
058- During a Manual ENG Start, What to do if there is a Sudden Electrical Power Supply Interruption?
PRO-SUP-70 P9
It will be Noticed by the Loss of ECAM displays
- Immediately Abort Start by Setting ENG MASTER to OFF
- Then Perform a 30 Sec Dry Crank.
059- What the Correlation between EGT Temp and N2?
PRO-SUP-70 P12
- If EGT Increase due to Engine Deterioration:
* N2 Decrease
- If EGT Increase due to Handling Bleed Malfunction:
* N2 Increase.
060- How to Detect a Handling Bleed Valve Malfunction?
PRO-SUP-70 P12
SUPPLEMENTARY PROCEDURES
(Power Plant)
(Detection of Handling Bleed Valve Malfunction)
PRO-SUP-70 P12.
061- What to do if On Ground there is NO ENG Shutdown after setting ENG Master Sw to OFF?
PRO-SUP-70 P 12
- ECAM FUEL Page — PRESS
- LP FUEL Valve Position (Affected) — CHECK
* If LP Fuel Valve is Closed - (Cross Line in Amber)
No Crew Action are Required
* If LP Fuel Valve is Not Closed
ENG FIRE Pb Sw (Affected) — PRESS
Please Note:
The Shutdown of the ENG can Take Up to 2’30”.
