Superficial upper extremity nerves Flashcards
Describe the superior lateral brachial cutaneous nerve.
Parent nerve- axillary nerve (C5,6)
innervates skin lateral anterior side of the hummerus
Describe the Supraclavicular nerve
Orgin - C3 & C4 from cervical plexes
innervate skin above & below clavicle
branches into medial,intermedial and lateral
Describe the inferior lateral brachial cutaneous nerve
Parent nerve - radial nerve (C5,6)
innervates the anterior side of the lower hummerus
describe the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve
Parent nerve - terminal branch of the musclecutaneous nerve (C5,6,7)
innervates lateral forearm
Superficial branch of radial nerve
branch of radial nerve
innervates skin of thumb and back hand
Palmer branch of median nerve
branch of median nerve (C6-C8)
innervate skin of thumb and palm of hand
Palmer digital branches of the median
branch of the median nerve(C6-C8)
innervate the two digits closest to thumb
Palmer branch of ulnar nerve
branch of ulnar nerve (C6,T1)
innervates the medial side of anterior of hand
palmer digital branch of ulnar nerve
branch of ulnar nerve (C6, T1)
innervates the last two digits of hand
medial antebrachial Cutaneous nerve
arise from C8, T1 innervates ulnar(medial side of forearm)
medial brachial cutaneous nerve
arises from medial cord of brachial plexus (C8,T1,T2)
innervates medial part of arm communicate with Intercostal brachial nerve (T2)
Intercostal brachial nerve
arises from T2
innervates medial side of arm, communicates with medial nerve
Posterior brachial cutaneous nerve
branch of radial nerve C5-C8
innervates posterior middle of hummerus
Inferior cutaneous nerve
branch of the radial nerve (C5-C8)
innervates lateral posterior side of humerus
Posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve
branch of the radial nerve C5, 6-8
innervates the middle posterior forearm to wrist
