Q

What is erbs palsy?

A

damage to the upper roots of brachial plexus. either by pulling or fall or birth. C5 & C6 is damaged bad traction so is C7

Q

What are the symptoms of Klumpes palsy?

A

Loss of intrinsic muscles of hand, particularly the interosseus muscles (also thumb and hypothenar MM)Hand “clawed”; extended at MP joint, flexed at IP joints
Anesthesia along medial part of arm (T1 dermatome)
Often involves injury to C7 & C8, where there will be loss of most digital flexors and extensors; hand motion weak if it exists at all
