Superficial Cervical Lymph Nodes Flashcards
Name the four groups of superficial cervical lymph nodes.
- submental
- submandibular
- external jugular
- anterior jugular
Where are the submental lymph nodes located?
inferior to chin and superficial to the mylohyoid
What do the submental lymph nodes drain?
lower lip, both sides of the chin, floor of the mouth, apex of the tongue and mandibular incisors (#23 thru #26 teeth)
Where do the submental lymph nodes empty?

located at each side of the neck along the external jugular vein (lateral to external jugular)
Where do the external jugular lymph nodes empty into?
into the inferior deep cervical nodes
Where are the Anterior jugular lymph nodes located?
medial/lateral to anterior jugular
Where do the anterior jugular lymph nodes empty into?
into inferior deep cervical nodes
