What is the purpose for the Thymus?
The purpose is maturation of T-cell lymphocytes
When does the thymus grow?
grows through puberty, then undergoes involution
What is meant by involution?
shrinks in size; smaller
Where is the thymus deep into?
deep to sternum and inferior of the thyroid
What is the innervation for the thymus?
branches of X (vagus) and cervical nerves
What is the purpose of T-cell lymphocytes?
helps us fight disease
