A

HIGHEST COURTS FOR: - Civil cases: court of the district judge
- Criminal cases: court of sessions judge
- the district judge can also act as the sessions judge
- appeals from lower courts are taken here
- appeals from here are taken to high court

-most important revenue court in a district: the collector - appeals from here are taken to high court

A
- small law courts in rural areas
FUNCTIONS: - Petty civil and criminal cases
- levying small fines
- often serving 3-4 villages
- appeals from here can be taken to higher courts like district courts
