  • Can be considered too complicated and lead to ‘donkey voting’ mistake but in NI 98% reported satisfaction with the process

  • Votes cast are not exactly proportional seats gained
  • Easy for voters to make a mistake on the ballot paper eg 2022 1.3% votes

  • Extreme parties unlikely to do well
  • All your choices can get into power
