Differences between the major and minor studios
Major companies had their own theaters so they didn’t have to see their fiulms to anyone else, they did vertical integration. The major comapies were also in a oligraphy and controled the industry
Vertical integration
The company controls all the activities of producing, disturbing and exhibition of the films.
Poverty Row
Lone star, monogamy republic, PRC. Made the shorter “B” films that were lower budget films
“A” picture
Made by the major and minor 8 companies and they were longer films. The cut for the theater for “A” films starts decent then grows the longer the theater shows the film
“B” pictures
Were usually low-budget films made by poverty row and filled out the program. They were sold on a flat fee to fully rent these films
Standard night at the movies during classical Hollywood days
You would go to movies for hours, and it would be a continuous performance where the shows never stop. they just continue onto a b film or an animation then start back again at the a film. You could walk in at any time and leave at any time

Long Term contract
Actors would be signed on a contract for companies and they would have to do films oly for that studio for a certain amount of years
