What is important anatomically in putting a shoe on a horse?
White line- provides the demarcation between the region that is going to be sensitive- sensitive lamanae. Hoof nails are designed with a sloping edge on one side and straight on the other. The sloping edge should be on the inside of the hoof.

What is the stratum medium?
The main part of the hoof. It is the tubular and intertubular horn.
Who has both these? What are they called?
Horses.
Primary and secondary lamellae with the stratum internum.
Stratum medium vs. Stratum Internum
Stratum medium- is the thick part of the hoof outside (coronary dermis is on the outside)
Stratum internum- is in between the laminae– like folds of a book
Sensitive vs. insensitive laminae
Sensitive laminae- are dermis- they interdigitate of the INSENSITIVE laminae of the stratum internum.
What is the sole?
Covers the ground surface between the wall and the frog.
What do ruminant have instead of a frog?
