What is the atmosphere?
A
the earth is covered by a layer of air that forms its atmosphere.

What is the purpose of the atmosphere?
A
During the day it protects the Earth’s surface from the full glare of the sun and absorbs damaging ultraviolent radiation.
At night it stops heat from escaping into space.

A
the worlds weather

What is the composition of the atmosphere?
A
Nitrogen = 78%
Oxygen = 21%
Carbon Dioxide = less than 1%
Other gases including water vapour = +- 1%

What important role does gravity play in the atmosphere?
A
It stops the gases in the atmosphere from floating into deep space. it holds the atmosphere in place.
