a group of organs that are considered an unit because of a common set of functions
What is an organism?
a whole being that can function and live on its own
What are examples of atoms?
carbon, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, and oxygen
What are examples of molecules?
water, DNA, and carbohydrates
What are examples of cells?
muscle cell, skin cell, and neurons
What are examples of organs?
heart, lungs, liver, skin. and kidneys
What are the 8 major organ systems?
the skeletal, muscular, nervous, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, reproductive, and urinary systems
