What is a connective?
A word that ties together 2 new scentences, could be used to shift the readers focus
What does a short scentence show?
Shows/ builds tension
What is an exposition?
Setting the scene for the reader/ background information/ setting
What is the climax?
The exciting/ pivotal or tense part of the text
What is the resolution?
The conclusion of the narrative/ conflics/ things are resolved
What is a single-clause sentence
A simple sentence is made up of only one independent clause. An independent clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a predicate and forms a complete thought when standing alone
What is a multi-clause sentence?
A sentence made up of multiple independed clauses to build up layers of discription to create a setting/ expostition
What does the order of event show?
How the writer has conciously placed key information/ pivotal points in the text
What are temporal references?
Any references to time throughout the text to possibly speed up/ slow down the pace of a text
What can pace show?
The speed at which the story is going/ speed at which information is revealed
What can contrasts show?
The difference between things in a text
