  • make sure quotes are relevant to question
  • make sure to choose quotes only from specified area in text
  • make for distinct points
  • keep answers short but clear

  • Look at the whole of the source, think about how it begins, develops and ends - does anything change or develop?
  • Is the source from the beginning or end of a novel, beginning of a chapter? how does this impact you as a reader
  • identify and write about many structural devices and features e.g are there any flashbacks/flashforwards?
  • Write 2-3 paragraphs with plenty of references to the text and ONLY structural devices

A
  • Read the statement and bullet point reasons to agree/ disagree in table
  • You can either wholly agree, wholly disagree or agree and disagree - whichever you choose you must give plenty evidence
  • As well as giving your opinions write about how the writer has influenced you as a reader
  • Write 4-5 paragraphs with plenty of evidence and analysis - make sure to refer back to statement and give a overall conclusion
