What is a stroke
A
- also known as cerebrovascular accident (accident cerebrovasculaire), when lack of blood flows to the brain, resulting in cell death

What are the two main types of stroke
A
- Ischemic stroke: due to lack of blood flow
- Hemorrhagic stroke: due to bleeding

Signs and symptoms of stroke
A
- Central facial palsy
- inability to move or feel one side of the body
- problems with understanding or speaking
- feeling like the world is spinning
- loss of vision to one side among others
- signs and symptoms often appear after the stroke has occurred
If the episode does not result in permanent brain injury, it is known as a transient ischemic attack
