Strip Ease Forming System Flashcards
What thickness of plywood is the strip is system designed for
19 mm
What size tire slots are required in the panels
6 x 25
How are the tie slots made?
Using a template and a router With a carbide bit 6 mm
What is the safe working load for the ties?
Ten, MPA
What is the purpose of whaler bars
Supports the wall forms
Describe four methods of corner connections for strip ease forms
Metal hinge, steel corners, strap, hinges, and angle iron bolted to the form panels
What are the two standard sizes of panels for the strip ease system
600 mm x 2400 mm ( 2 x 8) and 1200 mm x 2400 mm ( 4 x 8)
What are the three pieces of equipment required to cut the slots into the form ply?
Template router, and router bit
What is the convenience of using corner forms with metal hinges, and a rod passing through
Forms can be folded flat together for easier handling and storage

Strike with a hammer
Why are the wall tiles design to break off 6 mm inside the concrete wall?
To leave a hole to be filled with caulking or cement plastic it prevents tiles from rusting out which may cause the wall to leak
Why should the whaler bars joints not line up with the plywood panel joints?
For strength and to prevent bulges
If pilaster’s are deeper than 250 mm, why should ties be used at right angles to the projection
So the sides of the pilaster’s do not break out
Is the bottom plate set on the concrete line? Why or why not?
No the thickness of the form away from the concrete line 19 mm or 3/4 and it provides extra lateral support
What size of nails should be used to fasten the panel to the plates?
50 mm common nails
Should both the inside and outside form panels be braced why or why not
Outside only
How many bottom plates are required on outside form panels?
One on one side along the bottom
