A multifaceted concept that encompasses both individual and family experiences. Generally defined as a state of emotional or mental strain resulting from challenging or demanding circumstances

A: The stressor: This refers to the initial event that disrupts the families equalibrium

C: The appraisal of the stressor: This represents the meaning that the family attaches to the event, their perception of its severit, and their beleifs about their ability to cope. Influenced by:

X: The crisis: This is the outcome, the level of disorganization and disruption experiencd by the family as a resulkt of an interplay between the stressor, resources, and appraisal
what is the double ABC-X model
