What is a residential parent child relationship?

A

-One where the child primarily lives with that parents. This type of relationship often suffers in the early stages of divirce. The residential parent may have little energy for the child, and the child may take out their frustrations on the parent. In some cases a child may become a parentified child, meaning they take on parental responsibilities at a young age

What is a non-reisdential parent child relationship?

A

One where the child does not prijmarily live with that parent. This type of relationship can vary significantly, espesially in the degree of contact between the non-reisdential parent and child. Activities with the non-residential parent may be perceived by the child as more fun and social compared to activities with the residential parent.
