Stratford is in London borough of Newham. It is north of the River Thames and has the river running through it. It was the location of the 2012 Olympics.

Reasons lower Leavalley was chosen for the Olympic Park

A

Open space – playing fields and nature reserve allotments.
Industry – there were two industrial states still working
Derek land – plenty of unused overgrown land.
Housing – there was a community of 500 times on the site.
Transport – Stratford was International Station was already built
Water the River Lee and River Lee navigation canal t Skibo go through the site

Social effects of the Olympic Centre

A

A new academy accommodating 1800 people age 3 to 18 is now on the site
the east village is the new name for the athletes Village in our provides 2800 homes for legal people and 10000 new homes will be built in the park by 20 30 40% of affordable.
Stratford got a tube station to help connect the area to the rest of London. Stratford is now 2nd to only Kings Cross as the most connected part of London.
The infrastructure has been improved as well as two underground lines high speed javelin train to Kings Cross and the Docklands light Railway. It may be a drop-off spot for the Eurostar to Paris
Properties for poor people I’d be demolished to make site 450 housing association flat for example

Economic effects of the Olympic Park

A

A new name for the media centre is now a hub for creative and media theories with 5000 jobs.
Existing businesses had to move including each foreman and sons smoking factory with 50 employees.
The Olympic generated £9 billion in extra income for the UK for the sale of buildings after the Olympics

Environmental effects of the Olympic park

A

The Olympic site was built on 560 acres of Brownfield land property that have been neglected and unused and contaminated.
The stadium form of at least 25% recycled materials
during the redevelopment 3.3 million tons of CO2 were created (many of the materials for the stadium and Olympic come overseas)
4000 trees seven 4000 plants and 60,000 bulbs and 300,000 wetland plants were planted the Queen Elizabeth Elizabeth Park was built (100 hectares of open space)
