Q

What are the evaluation points of Ainsworth’s strange situations?

A
  • Lacks ecological validity: the artificial setting means we don’t know whether the child would have acted the same way in a familiar environment and as such the results are less externally valid
  • Methodological weakness: Overt study so parents may not have acted in the normal way thus causing extraneous variables and altering the DV
