Question 1

लोभाविष्टः शुनकः
एकस्मिन् ग्रामे एकः शुनकः अस्ति | एकस्मिन् दिने सः बुभुक्षितः भवति | सः बहुकालं भोजनम् अन्विषति | अन्ते एकं मांसखण्डं प्राप्नोति | शुनकः पिपासितः अपि भवति | अतः सः चिन्तयति “अहं प्रथमं जलं पिबामि अनन्तरं भोजनं खादामि” इति | सः तडागस्य समीपे गच्छति | तडागे तस्य प्रतिबिम्बं पश्यति | शुनकः चिन्तयति “ओह् ! अत्र अन्यः शुनकः अस्ति | तस्य मुखे अपि एकः मांसखण्डः अस्ति | अहं तस्य मांसखण्डम् अपि खादामि” इति | शुनकः भषति “भौ “ | तस्य मुखात् मांसखण्डः तडागे पतति | शुनकाय इदानीं भोजनं नास्ति |

The greedy dog

In a village there is a dog. One day he becomes very hungry. He searches for food for a very long time. In the end he gets a piece of meat. The dog also becomes thirsty. So, he thinks “I will first drink water and then eat the food”. He goes near the pond. He sees his reflection in the pond. The dog thinks “Oh! There is another dog here. There is meat in his mouth too. I will eat his meat also”. The dog barks “Bow”. From his mouth the meat falls into the pond. Now there is no food for the dog.
