tell me about yourself

A

if you could do anything in the world and money didn’t matter, i’d still manage money

  1. i just graduated queen’s commerce in april this year
  2. got interested in finance around the age of 16 after reading peter lynch’s book beating the street. taught me that shares represent fractional ownerships in businsses i started investing my own money around that time,
  3. started csc in highschool
  4. just wrote cfa in decemeber
  5. in terms of more personal stuff, i had teh pleasure of conducting an exhcnage at SKEMA in the south of france and have loved the opportunity of travel and culture, understand this from different points of view.

why investing

A

once you realize the power of compounding, there is no going back.

  1. constantly learning
  2. constantly evolving.
  3. industry where principles stay the same, but execution and presenation of facts change
  4. im an inherently curious person and want to understand the why behind something eg. what makes someone want to buy this product, behavioural finance stuff is very appealing

errors

A
  1. buyging somethign that was statiscally cheap. learned there was probably a reason.
    eg. frontline
  2. being forced to sell
    - needed to pay for rent, sold a stock before earnings and it sored
  3. trying risk arbitrage, macro
  4. many errors of ommision
