• Met a PE manager at a charity poker tournament a few months back and we had the chance to talk about the industry, see how he thinks about business. Operational improvements etc.
• i’ve always been aware of it as an option, but have been primarily a public markets investor, given where i started and with my interest, i’ve been able to invest publicly
• Harder to do, with the shift to passive, its challenging
• Not saying PE is easier, but the edge of operational and financial control is one of the few remaining
