What is soil water storage?
Water stored in the soil utilised by plants
What is groundwater storage?
Water that’s stored in the pore spaces of rocks
What is river channel storage?
Water stored in a river
What is interception storage?
Water held by plants before reaching the ground
What is surface storage?
Water stored in puddles ponds lakes
What is the water table?
The upper level where the soil is saturated and there’s the boundary between this and the unsaturated soil
What is the water table used for?
To assess drought conditions
Health of wetland systems
Measure the success of forest restoration programmes
What is a wetland?
When there’s water covering the soil all year round more or less
