Meth -
- phetamine
What does anorexiants have in it’s name
It’s close to -phentamine but in the beginning
- Phen - (Phentermine)
What is the action of an anitconvulsant?
Depress the CNS
And from earlier what phsych drugs were we using to depress the CNS?
Benzos
What’s a benzo that comes to mind?
Diazepam
What do all benzos have in their name?
- pam
- lam
What is an emergency type of seizure?
Status epilepticus
What are you using to treat status epilepticus?
Benzo, specifically Diazepam
What constitutes a status eplielpticus seizure?
Lasting longer than 5 minutes
What are the sideffects of CNS depressants?
Parasympathetic
What is a non-benzo anticonvulsant?
It’s a PHONY because it’s no benzo
Phenytoin
What is the go to med for anticonvulsants that isn’t diazepam? (Chronic treatment of convulsions) (Diazepam is for acute cases due to risks of dependency)
