steps for stills
1) evaluate affected structure
2) intial treatment position: position of ease
3) add localizing force (5 lbs or less)
4) move through restricgtive barrier while maintaining force
5) final treatment position
6) return the pt to neutral and retest
contraindications stills
not advisable acros recent wounds
or fractures less than 6 weeks old

pt position
pt hand on neck and other on elbow
supine lumbar spine segmental diagnosis
1) ID landmarks (iliac crest, L4 males, L5 females)
2) push TP anteriorly to ID rotation restriciton
3) flex to localize segment
4) sidbend by internal or external rotation of leg
5) rotate with abducting or adducting leg
initial positioning for posterior innominate rotation
flexion at hip and knee
hip adduction
monitor at superior SI pole
initial postiion for anterior innominate rotation
flexion of hip to about 45 degrees and knee flexion
hip abduction
monitor inferior SI pole
