Caustive agent: Chlamydia Trachomatis
Treatment: anti biotics
Symptoms: signs of infections

Men:
infection of urethra inflamtion of epididymis - yellow discharge & burning sensation
Female
-lead to infertility
Inflamation of uterus
Gonorrhoea
Caustive agent: Neisseria Gonorrhoeae
Treatment: antibiotics
Symptoms: 2-10 day incubation
Gonorrhoea effects on male and female
Men
InFlamtion of urethra, burnin sensation and yellow discharge
infection could spread to testes
Female
No pain Slight dischage
70% of women experience unrecognisable symptoms
Genital Herpes
Causative agent: herpes Simplex Virus (HSV)
HSV1 (cold sores) HSV2 ( Blisters on genitals)
Treatment: none only for pain relief
Symptoms:
Blisters on genitals
Rashs
Genital Herpes effects
Remains in nervous system, may flare up at any time.
Can be transmitted to babies during birth
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
Causes AIDS acquired immunodeficiency virus:
Causative agent :Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
Treatment:
HIV Effect
Acute – after initial infection, HIV replicates quickly resulting in flu-like symptoms
Chronic – Asymptomatic, HIV is slowly multiplying, and can last 10 or more years
AIDS – when the immune system is no longer able to resist other infections
Why is it dangerous
HIV is dangerous because it infects blood cells called helper T-lymphocytes
without them our body cant find off viruses
Pubic lice and scabies
Causative agent:
Pubic lice – Phthirus pubis (insect)
Scabies - Sarcoptes scabei (mite)
Treatment: lotions (insecticidal) applied to skin
Symptoms:
Itchiness of genital area
