Regular vs pregnancy
Normal : Doxycyline 100mg BID x 7 days
Pregnancy: Azithromycin (avoid tetracyclines)
could also use amoxicillin

NO. unless pregnant or past hx of treatment failure

Thin, watery discharge FISHY odor (positive wiff-amine test)
How do we treat BV (normal vs pregnant)
Metronidazole 500mg PO BID x 7 days *** NO ALCOHOL
** if pt refusing to not drink give clinamycin instead
Pregnancy: Clindamycin vaginal cream prior to 37 weeks)
How do we treat herpes simplex 2
antiviral
acyclovir/valacyclovir
***SAFE in pregnancy

Symptoms of Trichomoniasis
Vaginal discharge FROTHY, copious, pearly yellow/green in color
how do we treat Trichomoniasis?
Metronidazole 2g PO x 1
Still symptomatic? –> Flagyl 500mg PO x 7days
Pregnant? Pump and dump 24 hrs

Pubic lice

Permethrin 1%
***NEVER use Lindane (Kwell) In pregancy
