Believe we should control population as overcrowding is major threat to all life - Catholics see life as gift from God (Genesis = ‘Be fruitful and multiply’)
Teaches that we need to introduce birth control programmes (contraception) - Catholics believe there should always be a possibility of new life
Believe humans and animals are equal and equally important - Catholics believe humans were created in image of God. Also, God told humans in Genesis 1 to rule over the Earth and all the creatures in it

Stewardship influences humanists in a similar way to Catholics because they believe we must care for our planet for future generations. However, don’t believe God created earth and don’t believe God gave humans responsibility to look after planet
