Steps Of Circulatory System Flashcards
1st Step:
Left atrium receives oxygen rich blood from the pulmonary system and then pumps it into left ventricle
2nd Step:
Left ventricle pumps blood through aorta
3rd Step:
Blood is dispersed throughout the body through a network of blood vessels called arterioles
4th Step:
Oxygen and nutrients are then passed into the tissues through very tiny blood vessels connected to the arterioles, capillaries
5th Step:
As blood is pumped through the tissues and into the pulmonary circulation, it carries with it carbon dioxide and other waste materials.
6th Step:
Capillaries, connected to another network of blood vessels, venules, pass the waste-filled blood into veins
7th Step:
The body’s veins converge into two main veins, which carry the blood back to the heart
8th Step:
The right atrium receives the waste-filled blood and pumps it into right ventricle
9th Step:
Right ventricle pumps the blood through the pulmonary artery
