Tone of desperation in Scrooge’s voice shows how he has finally changed for good
‘Unwatched, unwept and uncared for’
Rule of three and alliteration to describe how Scrooge’s body has been left shows how he was portrayed by others.
‘The ways were foul and narrow, the shops and houses wretched.’
Adjectives used to describe the poorer part of London.
‘Quiet. Very quiet. The noisy Cratchits were as still as statues.’
Contrast to the usual Cratchit behaviour shows that something bad has happened to them. Short sentences make the reader alert.
‘Spirit of Tiny Tim, thy childish essence was form of God’
Religious link to context (large quantities of people at the time of the novella being written were religious) so linking Tiny Tim to God shows how pure and special he was.
