Demonstrations
Any person who does not hold a valid license as a cosmetologist, manicurist, aesthetician, natural hair stylist or cosmetology instructor may not demonstrate any teaching practice of cosmetology in a shop or school
Original license fee
Fee for the original license as a cosmetologist has to be paid within 6 months after notification of passing state examination
Fees
Cosmetologist- Original and Renewal of their license is $60.00
-has to be paid every TWO years!
Civil Penalties

Penalty-$250-$1,000
-any penalties are posted online with the salon name, and reason for the penalty, but does not list the name of the stylist that has caused this penalty to be charged to the salon.

Practice by Instructor
An instructor shall complete at least sixteen hours of actual instruction in order to obtain credit.
Amount of credit time to be deducted for failure to attend the program. (attendance)
Mobile Shop
“Primary shop”
-means the currently-licensed cosmetology, barber, or dual shop with a fixed location under whose license or registration a mobile shop is operated.
-Pursuant to TCA
-Shop inspection and fees every year.
Rules
-Rules are written by the regulatory agency or the state board, and they determine how the law must be applied. Rules establish specific standards of conduct and can be changed or updated frequently. Cosmetologist must be aware of any changes or updates to the rules and regulations, and they must comply with them.
Laws
-Written by both the federal and state legislature that determine the scope of practice (what license allows the holder to do) and that establish guidelines for regulatory agencies to make rules.
Examinations and school attendance ratio
_minimum passing score on all examinations held by the board shall be 70% or higher.
State Regulator Agencies
-Enforcement of the rules through inspections and investigations of consumer complaints is also part of the agencies responsibility.
