Yes and she wanted to make Achilles as well so she went to River Styx in the underworld and dipped him in to make him immortal and then seared him in a fire to make him immortal. However his ankle stayed mortal from when she had held him
Did Peleus know she was making him Immortal
Yes he found her searing him in a fire and got angry. So Thetis took him away to be looked after by Chiron the Centaur
How did the Trojan war start
At Peleus and Thetis wedding a Goddess called Eric threw the golden apple enshrined with two the fairest and three goddesses asked Zeus who should get it but he knew the losers would be angry so he got Paris to do it, a mortal

Aphrodite - offered the love of the most beautiful girl, Helen
Hera- offered land
Athene- offered wisdom

No the gods would not let them pass unless they sacrificed a human so Calchas king of Mycenae sadly sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia who thought she would be getting married to Achilles
Did Achilles fight in the war
Yes he wanted to as he was the greatest fighter in all the land but Thetis was worried and sent him to the Island of Skyros dressed as a girl. However he was found and went to war
When they were at Troy did they start to fight
The Trojans had built a wall so Achilles and his army fought the villages taking hostages for 10 yrs
What happened after 10 yrs
When they took hostages Agamemnon’s girl Criseis got taken home by her father and Apollo who was sending plagues to their camp he stole Achilles girl who was angered and refused to fight
What did they do without Achilles
His best friend Patroclus saw everyone was dying so he asked Achilles and dressed like him so people thought he was Achilles. This worked until he felt so brave that he fought Apollo at the wall who killed him
What did Achilles do after Patroclus died
HE was so upset he agreed to fight again and managed to kill the great Trojan hero Hector
Did the Greek warriors defeat Troy
Yes they built a big wooden horse which the Trojans brought in thinking it was a gift and at midnight it opened at the Greek warriors killed the Trojans
