What is meant by the 10 minutes between report and brief?
Ten minutes is given to cabin crew after report time, before the briefing, for cabin crew to familiarise themselves with company communications.
On a familiarisation flight where are new CCMs not permitted to sit?
A required crew seat
When you arrive are flying home from a destination how much time should you arrive in advance?
70 minutes
What is covered in the pre-flight briefing?
1- Aircraft type and equipment
2- Area and type of operation
3- Special Categories of passengers
What will the FSM advise cabin crew on during the briefing?
1- Who the next most senior crew member is who will take charge when the FSM is on break
2- Tell CCMs the normal and emergency access codes
3- vBrief (security/safety/medical one liners and any aircraft defects)
4- Check if any CCMs are unfamiliar with the aircraft type
5- Determine CCMs state of acclimatisation & those called out on standby
When will pre-flight briefings commence?

A Zone or another private area
What will happen if you fail to answer the Q&A correctly on the O/B flight?
They will be grounded immediately for assessment and/or retraining.
What will happen if you fail to answer the Q&A correctly on the I/B flight?
1- CCM cannot operate the flighty
2- For TTOL they should occupy a passenger seat or a crew seat which is preferably out of passenger view.
3- They should assist with service preparation out of sight as directed by CSS
4- For inflight safety and medical incidents they are not considered crew
5- In an emergency they are now an ABP
When at the airport crew must ensure they have…
1- Their valid ID
2- Are not smoking
3- Remain seated at all times when on a bus
4- Be seated when using mobile on bus
When on tarmac crew must…
1- wear a hi-vis
2- be aware of moving vehicles
3- have phones switched off
4- be aware of falling items
5- not drop debris
6- not walk under aircraft
7- Not approach aircraft when anti-collision lights are on
8- Not use camera

What does the FSM do once the rest of the cabin crew have boarded?
1- Make a PA announcing that cabin crew are now in charge of the cabin
2- Liaise with flight crew/ground engineer to check there are no current circumstances which could be dangerous to the cabin crew

What happens at pre-flight and passenger boarding
1- Cabin Crew commences with pre-flight checks and prep aircraft for passengers
2- Minimum crew must be present to receive passengers
3- At this point there could be ground staff on board and things attached to the plane
What happens at Pushback?
1- Groundstaff have left and equipment removed
2- Doors are closed and armed
3- Flight deck door locked
4- If aircraft is “nose-on” to a boarding gate, a twoing vehichle is connected to pushback the aircraft
5- One or more engines are running
What happens at Pre take-off/ taxi out
1- Aircraft on runway
2- Depending on traffic this could take a few mins to an hour
3- Cabin crew conduct cabin secure checks and safety briefing
4- Cabin crew secure themselves
5- Safety demo
What happens at take-off?
1- Landing gear retracted
2-Power up to gear up
What happens at the climb?
1- Starts when landing gear is retracted and continues until top of climb
2- climb can be stepped to conform to ATC regulations
3- No PAs for the first 5 mins of the flight
When can passengers usually remove seatbelts?
10,000ft
What happens at in-flight / cruise?
1- Aircraft levels off between 6,100m-12,200m
2- Reach speed of 625mph
3- Passengers and cabin crew are usually free to walk the cabin
4- Lasts until Top of Descent
What happens at before landing / descent?
1- Flight crew PA/interphone advising that TOD has been reached… it ends when CCMs are advised to take their seats
2- Passengers and crew must be secured
What happens at approach?
1- Approach starts when CCMs are told to take their seats
2- Ends when landing gear is lowered
What happens at landing?
1- starts when landing gear is lowered and lasts until aircraft has touched down, decelerated and vacates the runway.
What happens at after landing/ taxi in?
1- Taxi until reach the gate and doors are disarmed
2- Cabin remains secured
What happens at post-flight and disembarkation?
1- One or two doors are opened
2- Cabin crew oversee disembarkation of passengers
3- Post-flight lost property checks conducted
4- Flight deck door unlocked
5- Ground service equipment will surround the aircraft
