  3. The left under trotsky pushed for permeant revolution where as the right believed in in socialism in one country stalin was able to manipulate debates for his own benefit.

Stalins split with zinoviev and kamenev

  1. Trotsky was removed as commisssr of war it is often said he alienated people that may of been his ally due to his popularity in the army.
  2. Kamenev and zinoviev was worried about stalins plan for Peasants and forigin policy they tried to verbally attack him but this was not successfull and they lost their position as local secretaries.

The United opposition

  1. Trotsky kamenev and zinoviev formed opposition to the NEP and demand for more freedom of speech
  2. All were exculed from the politburo by January 1927 he was expelled from the USSR

  1. Stalin suppressed lenins testament which made a number of critical comments about him and would have been damaging
  2. He used his position as general secretary to create supprtors as they owed their place because of him.
  3. Trotsky was viewed with suspicion as he was a former menshvik and only joined in 1917
  4. Trotsky continued to be on his holiday during lenins funeral and said he was given the wrong date.
