How does Scrum use the term “Stakeholders”?
Scrum uses the term stakeholders as a catch-all term for people outside of the Scrum Team that have an interest in the product.
This may include users, customers, management, governance and anyone else.
What is the Scrum team’s responsbiilty regarding Stakeholders?
The Scrum Team is responsible for ensuring the right stakeholders attend the Sprint Review. The stakeholders who attend may change over time and depend on the current Product Goal or Sprint Goal.
How does the Scrum team work with stakeholders at any point during a sprint?
The Scrum Team may work with stakeholders at any point during a Sprint. This could include:
- The Product Owner working with them to understand what is valuable and to create Product Backlog items.
- Developers working with them to better understand Product Backlog items that they are working on in the current Sprint.
- The Scrum Master removing barriers between stakeholders and Scrum Teams.
