Identify stakeholders, determine stakeholders’ interests, prioritize stakeholders, prepare an action plan
What are the four super groups of project stakeholders?
People who know about the project and have expressed interest, people who know about the project but don’t know it can benefit them, people who don’t know about the project but would be interested if they knew, people who oppose the project
What are the steps in dealing with stakeholders who oppose your project?
Are there counter balancing benefits?
Note their opposition in your risk management plan
Can their concerns be addressed?
Stakeholder prioritization requires the project manager to balance the following two factors:
The level of project support and organizational influence
What are the key stakeholder questions?
What financial or emotional interest does the person have in the project?
What is the stakeholder’s current opinion of you and your project?
Who is likely to be influenced by their opinion?
