A

Stage 1 sleep is defined by low amplitude and high-frequency waves. Often characterized by drowsiness and light sleep.

What is stage 2 sleep? Also known as the alpha stage.

A

Stage 2 is characterized by sleep spindles (high frequencies of series waves) and K complexes (a biphasic wave stands out.)

Slow waves and deep sleep. Delta waves (low frequency, high altitude.) Important to overall restfulness.
