If there is a yellow marked pathway where do you stop your train?
As close as possible to edge of yellow marked pathway
If other train or baulk where do you stop?
1-2m
If Stabling at an open-ended track what do you do?
Ensure motors are in clear and not fouling any adjacent track
How long do you get to Stable a train?
8 minutes - 6 car
4 minutes - 3 car
What do you do in the Leading Motor when you Stable?
MCH to B6
Selector Switch to NEUTRAL
Key OFF and OUT
Observe BC gauge has 280 kPa, Park brake switch illuminated, Trip lowered status light extinguished
When walking to the other end what are you looking for?
Inspect Trip and Cable
Headlights extinguished, Markers RED
Obvious damage, graffiti, vandalism
Coupler, cables, hoses
Air leaks
What do you do in Centre Cabs?
Park Brake switch illuminated
Cab and bulkhead door, windows locked
Blinds down, vents open
Cab equipment OFF
What do you inspect on the rear of the train?
Obvious damage
Headlights Extinguished
Marker Lights RED
What do you do in Trailing Motor?
Park brake switch illuminated
Check fault and status panel for defects
Turn off unnecessary equipment
Press STABLE button (don’t put key in)
Ensure Line Voltage indicator extinguishes
How long will it take for Siemens to shutdown, saloon and marker lights extinguish and lower Panto’s?
30 Seconds
How long will it take for Driver’s desk light and step light to extinguish?
5 minutes
What do you do once complete?
Call Fleet and provide:
Location
Motor Numbers
Road
