What does the Deadmans Test Switch do?
Used to activate Deadman’s Device test mode. Tricks train into thinking it’s moving.
Enables Driver to test Hand and Foot Pilot Valve during train prep
Is active for 60 seconds before automatically switching off
What happens when the Deadman’s Test Switch is activated?
Switch illuminates
Audible tone
Test takes 60 seconds and automatically turns off
What is the BP Mode Key Switch & Selector Switch for?
For rescue and recovery
How many positions does the BP Mode Selector Switch have?
What are they?
0 - Normal
1 - Pushed by other train - Rescued
2 - Pulling other train - Rescuing
3 - Pulled by other train - Rescued
4 - Pushing other train - Rescuing
What happens when BP Mode is activated?
Corresponding light will flash on the fault panel
Repeater light will flash towards opposing cab
What is the VICERS Isolation Key Switch for?
When VICERS fault light illuminates use blue VICERS key to turn switch to isolate
Once turned only maintenance staff can turn back with pink key
What happens when any of the Bypass Key Switches are turned to the ‘I’ position?
Safety System Isolation fault light will illuminate on fault panel
Can only be turned back to normal position by maintenance staff
What does the Door Loop Bypass Switch do?
Bypass door system in event of defect
When FDCL cannot be rectified
Allows train to obtain traction power irrespective of door positions
What does the Safety Loop Switch do?
Bypasses DEAD HOL
