Fluoxetine/Prozac
A
depression
20mg/day start
up to 80mg/day
20mg/day= 90mg weekly pill
bulimia- start at 60mg/day
To be safe, TAPER OFF even if it has a long half life

Sertraline/Zoloft
A
Usually 50-200mg QD for depression
in panic disorder or PTSD- start at 25mg qd x 1 week, then 50mg qd, going up to 100mg/day

Escitalopram/Lexapro
A
Usual dose range 10 to 20mg/day
Start at 10mg per day (can also start at 5mg to be cautious)
Max out at 40mg per day

Paroxetine/Paxil
A
Depression- 20 to 50mg qd, start at 20mg qd
Anxiety/OCD- 10 to 60mg qd. Start at 10mg qd
If having a hard time with taper associated withdrawal, add prozac or another SSRI with long half life while tapering, then taper off the other SSRI
