Transport and collection

A
  • collect sample ASAP
  • morning
  • prior ( gargle water) ; reduce oral bacteria–> so no mouthwash
  • cough deeply ( sputum not saliva)
  • acid fast cultures (3 times specimen :8-24 hours)
  • sterile simple container
  • transport at room temp within 24 hour collection
