Transport and collection
A
- collect sample ASAP
- morning
- prior ( gargle water) ; reduce oral bacteria–> so no mouthwash
- cough deeply ( sputum not saliva)
- acid fast cultures (3 times specimen :8-24 hours)
- sterile simple container
- transport at room temp within 24 hour collection
